Cloud Security Engineer II

The Cloud Security Engineer is part of SNC’s Business Systems Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering team and primarily helps to support all phases of the Cloud service and security of systems and applications. In this role, you will focus on supporting the design, configuration, and optimization of security measures in our existing cloud environments, primarily within Microsoft Azure. You will work on ensuring our cloud infrastructure aligns with security standards while collaborating with engineering teams to implement secure solutions.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber. https://www.sncorp.com/company/business-areas/Responsibilities:

Design and implement secure cloud solutions within Azure, ensuring alignment with existing security architecture.

Configure and optimize cloud security tools, ensuring seamless integration into the broader security infrastructure.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that cloud services are deployed securely and efficiently.

Provide technical support for cloud security architecture and engineering efforts, contributing to ongoing cloud projects.

Must Haves:

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience

Hands-on experience managing cloud environments (preferably Azure) and securing sensitive data in hybrid cloud environments.

Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft platforms, domain structures, and IAM.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express concepts in verbal and written forms.

Team-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and self-motivated initiative.

The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required.

Preferred:

Advanced degree in Cybersecurity

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), the US Intelligence Community, NASA/Civil or commercial space and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets

Professional cybersecurity certifications for Azure/AWS, SANS or other Cloud Security certifications

Experience implementing cyber frameworks, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 800-171 and 800-53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), MITRE ATT&CK, Zero Trust Architecture, DFARS, and industry best practices
