Investigators allocated to this series do not require P.O.S.T. certification. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.The Lead Worker will oversee and execute complex and specialized audits, inspections, and investigations for the Multi-Family Housing Compliance Program. This pivotal role involves not only conducting thorough 504 inspections for HOME, National Housing Trust Fund, and ARPA projects, but also providing essential training and coordinating the activities of Compliance Audit Investigator II's (CAI II). Responsibilities include reviewing and approving rent increases for HOME properties in accordance with HUD regulations, and ensuring that properties participating in the Section 811 Supportive Housing Program for Persons with Disabilities are equipped with necessary construction modifications to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Additionally, this position will perform 504 inspections to verify compliance with accessibility standards for these properties.
