The functions of the Branch include, processing permit applications, ensuring permits follow applicable Federal and State regulations, developing streamlining and templates to improve processes, coordinating with other branches, and working EPA, the public, and stakeholders to issue defendable and enforceable permits that follow the Clean Air Act. The supervisor of this branch is responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring and supervising branch staff; reviewing work products; planning and coordinating branch resources; project management; coordinating and leading public hearings and stakeholder engagement.
