Incumbents in this series plan, organize and administer a comprehensive personnel services program including employee relations, selection, classification coordination, position control, evaluation, training, payroll and other related areas. Personnel Officers supervise the work of other personnel staff. This position is located in the Nevada Department of Transportation Headquarters building, which is part of the Human Resources Division in Carson City. The incumbent will oversee NDOT's internal administrative investigation team and processes, which include vehicle accidents, performance management, attendance, insubordination, and other related events. The incumbent will also manage the leave program team, which reviews the FMLA, CAT Leave, and Paid Family Leave requests to provide guidance, oversight, and training on consistent processes. The incumbent will provide Collective Bargaining Agreement resources to covered employees, work with the Labor Relations Unit regarding any changes or updates to the agreements, and to provide training to the employees regarding their rights as collective bargaining unit members.
