Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a Human Health Research Coordinator to join our team at the Liggins Institute. This role is pivotal in coordinating human health research studies, working closely with Principal Investigators, research nurses, midwives, and other research staff to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives.You’ll be responsible for managing clinical research activities, monitoring timelines, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting participant engagement. This is a dynamic role that offers variety and the opportunity to contribute to impactful research that improves health outcomes across New Zealand.This position is to provide parental leave cover and is offered as a part-time (22.5 hours per week), fixed-term position for up to 12 months, with the possibility of additional hours depending on team and project needs.The salary range for this role is $66,801 – $77,800 depending on skills and experience.For more detailed information, please refer to the Position DescriptionMō tō mātou rōpū | About the teamYou will be part of a dedicated team of Human Health Research Coordinators within the Human Health Research Services Platform. The team supports a range of research groups across the Institute, providing coordination and operational expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality human health research outcomes.He kōrero mōu | About youYou’ll be someone who thrives in a collaborative research environment and brings a proactive, detail-oriented approach to project coordination. You’ll have a solid foundation in clinical research and be confident managing multiple tasks, engaging with participants, and supporting research teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. Your understanding of the New Zealand healthcare and maternity system will be a valuable asset in navigating study protocols and ethics processes.To be successful in this role, you will have:A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. nursing, public health, allied health or science)2–3 years’ experience in clinical research, ideally around clinical trialsStrong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage timelines, documentation, and communication across multiple studiesHigh attention to detail and accuracy in data handling, reporting, and participant engagementExperience preparing and submitting ethics applications and working within regulatory frameworksKnowledge of the New Zealand healthcare and maternity system, including familiarity with clinical environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage a diverse network of stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaborativelyNgā āhuatanga kei a mātou | What we offerThe University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading university and maintains significant computational, laboratory and analytic facilities.
