About the roleAs a Maintenance Electrician, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure.Working as part of our maintenance teams, you'll be responsible for preventative maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, and supporting improvement projects that maximise plant uptime and operational efficiency.Depending on the site and business, you may work with injection moulding, Thermoforming, blow-moulding and extrusion equipment for plastics processing, recycling equipment, automation systems, utilities, and site services.Key responsibilitiesPerform preventative, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities.Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, and control system faults.Maintain and improve the reliability of manufacturing equipment and plant systems.Support PLC, VSD, and automation systems, including troubleshooting and commissioning activities.Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and improve performance.Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with electrical regulations and company standards.Support site projects, equipment upgrades, and automation improvements.Coordinate with production teams, contractors, and suppliers to deliver maintenance outcomes.Maintain accurate maintenance records and support spare parts management.Promote high standards of housekeeping, food safety, quality, and environmental compliance.Contribute to our strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture.What you'll bringCurrent New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence (A Grade preferred).Experience working as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing, FMCG, plastics, recycling, industrial processing, or similar environment.Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, automation, and control systems.Good planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.A strong commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and respond effectively under pressure.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.DesirableElectrical Engineering qualification.Experience with CMMS systems such as MEX.Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, packaging, or recycling operations.Mechanical maintenance experience.Project management or automation project experience.
