Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-connected Professional Teaching Fellow – Chemical Engineering to join our academic team.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about engineering education and enjoys inspiring the next generation of chemical engineers. You'll play a key role in delivering engaging, practice-focused teaching that equips students with both the technical knowledge and professional skills required for successful engineering careers.Working closely with colleagues across the Department, you'll contribute to teaching core Chemical Engineering courses while helping deliver the Faculty's innovative professional engineering skills programme. You'll bring real-world engineering experience into the classroom, helping students develop critical skills in communication, collaboration, innovation, systems thinking, and engineering design.This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who is looking to transition into academia, or an educator with strong industry experience who enjoys mentoring and developing future engineering professionals.Key responsibilities include:Delivering high-quality teaching across core Chemical Engineering courses and professional engineering skills programmesDeveloping engaging learning experiences that integrate engineering practice with communication, collaboration, innovation, and systems thinkingCoordinating and teaching undergraduate Chemical Engineering and ENGGEN coursesSupervising final-year Chemical Engineering design projectsApplying research-informed teaching practices to enhance student learningBuilding partnerships with industry and contributing to student engagement activities, including Open Day and outreach initiativesContributing to departmental service, curriculum development, and continuous improvement initiativesThis is a rewarding opportunity to shape the future of engineering education while helping students develop the practical skills, confidence, and mindset needed to succeed in industry.This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week.
