The role of Senior Document Processing Technician (Mail Clerk) is responsible for pick-up and delivery of all mail. The role will also entail handling of confidential correspondence, appointments, records and files by performing clerical work and attending to administrative and business details. You’ll also be responsible for organizing, maintaining and developing processes and produces for mail room operations and managing vendor relationships with our shipping partners. Work is performed under general supervision.Responsibilities

Sort and process incoming and outgoing company mail pieces.

Demonstrate expanded knowledge, understanding of the workload and ability to identify errors.

Demonstrate consistent speed and accurate filing of agency mail by agency code and name.

Efficiently and accurately assemble policies with applicable forms & endorsements and thoroughly review for accuracy.

Operate various mail room equipment (postage, envelope opener, envelope stuffing, and Multi-Function Printers); maintain leases and maintenance agreements for mailing equipment

Answer work related questions and resolve issues.

Check and determine the most prudent mailing method.

Maintain records of mailroom costs and track mailroom supplies

Effectively communicate and work with vendors.

Assist with other duties in the department as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of experience in a mailroom or similar work within the facilities department is preferred.

Attention to detail, good literacy skills, and a problem-solving approach to properly handle urgent mail or postage issues

Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license; maintain an excellent driving record

Excellent knowledge of postage regulations, mailing options (UPS, FedEx, etc.), and mail tracking

Good familiarity working with web-based applications and Microsoft tools (ex: Outlook, Excel, Word)

Able to lift and carry up to 35-50 pounds
