HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT This planner is working with the Machine Shop. Responsible for the release and coordination of customer shipments through the stockroom and shipping departments, return goods receipt and follow through, work order issuance and maintenance of rework and production jobs, routing input, ECO implementation, and expediting material to production. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Plans and schedules work orders for the assembly floor, ensure accurate entry of labor and materials.

Ensure supply meets the demands according to the production schedule and Customer demand requirements

Manages open work orders and completes and closes and seeks approvals if variances exceed limits

Participates in production meetings, escalates material shortages with the appropriate buyer to achieve committed schedule

Monitors production and repair work orders to ensure timely material availability; expedites material shortages through Purchasing and QC.

Investigates delays or potential delays; generates late delivery notices.

Assists in maintaining and executing the computer-based MRP system and in analyzing MRP data.

Resolves purchase order, inventory, and cycle-count discrepancies.

Supports the opening and closing of production and repair jobs, and jobs for supplier work of Ferrotec parts through the computer system; issues new and updated job paperwork to the production floor.

Generates weekly job status and capacity reports.

Provides backup for stockroom when required to maintain material flow and timely shipments.

Assists in the annual physical inventory count.

Responsible for overall coordination of production jobs: scheduling, material order, material purchase, order expedite, capacity planning and material issues associated with assigned product areas.

Initiates corrective meetings on reported delays and potential delays.

Monitors production and repair work orders.

Plans inventory levels and writes requisitions for timely acquisition of materials in accordance with committed delivery to customers and to forecast.

Holds routine production meetings and provides daily status to operations groups.

Coordinates the implementation of ECOs into the manufacturing effort.

Works with sales, engineering and purchasing to maximize responsiveness to customers.

Maintains and executes computer-based planner code and commodity code.

Prioritizes and monitors fixture drawing release from Manufacturing Engineering and schedules a normalized manufacturing time for those fixtures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years’ experience preferred

Associates degree or equivalent and 3 years’ experience

Experience in working in manufacturing and especially assembly floor environment

Physical & Environmental requirements:

A typical day requires continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around 100k sq. ft. facility extensively throughout the day.

Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury.

Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.

Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 100 pounds in all directions.

Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures.

Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
