Global Technology Scouting & Supplier Development ManagerThe Global Technology Scouting & Supplier Development Manager is responsible for identifying emerging technologies and building a capable global supplier ecosystem to support current and future product strategies. The role bridges technology innovation, engineering, and supply chain to enable cost‑competitive, scalable, and high‑quality solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesInitiate, set up, and execute supplier performance management.Perform a yearly review of strategic equipment suppliers within BA UX globally and align a dedicated gap mitigation action plan.Support technology development and validation of innovative manufacturing technologies at supplier sites.Support alignment of sourcing release for new equipment and special process suppliers.Support the establishment of Continental BA UX Production Standards and Multi-Use Equipment.Scout and evaluate emerging technologies, suppliers, and startups aligned with business and product roadmapsLead supplier identification, qualification, and capability development activities globallyCollaborate with engineering, R&D, purchasing, and quality teams to translate technology needs into supplier strategiesDrive early supplier involvement (ESI) during concept and development phasesAssess suppliers for technical capability, innovation maturity, scalability, cost, and riskSupport make‑buy decisions, sourcing strategies, and localization initiativesManage technology benchmarking, proof‑of‑concepts, and supplier pilotsBuild long‑term strategic partnerships to ensure innovation, quality, and supply continuityRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology Management, or BusinessStrong understanding of engineering technologies and manufacturing ecosystemsExperience in technology scouting, supplier development, or strategic sourcingAbility to evaluate both technical and commercial aspects of suppliersStrong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skillsGlobal supplier engagement and negotiation experiencePrimary FocusTechnology innovation enablement, supplier capability development, and long‑term competitiveness
