This position will work 27.5 hours a week Monday through Friday.SUMMARY:To process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail for the Department of Administrative Services.RESPONSIBILITIES:Collects, sorts, weighs, classifies, stamps, and picks up mail according to established U.S. Postal Service regulations to provide more rapid deliveryof mail and additional cost savings to state agencies.Provides pickup and deliveries to state agencies and United State Post Office via vehicle or on foot to service inter agency mail needs in a costeffective and timely manner.Computes postage charges for each department and posts daily amounts to department charge sheets.Picks up and delivers inter and intra-departmental mail according to a regular schedule.Performs other clerical duties associated with mailroom operations including messenger functions within a department and to outlying offices.Recognizing that everyone we come into contact with is a customer; treat all with courtesy, respect and professionalism, striving to exceed customerservice expectations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted forone year of required work experience.Experience: Six months' experience as a postal clerk or other work requiring a knowledge of postal regulations.
