What you’ll do as a Telecommunications Lineman
You will install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
You will safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
You will safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more
You will direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines
You will safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
You will work in multiple locations
You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies
What you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Valid driver’s license
Prior experience as a lineman placing aerial and underground telecommunication cable (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments
Ability to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
Physical abilities & exposures
This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
