OverviewCoordinates with others in the department to help the day-to-day operations of the D-H Geriatric Program.Responsibilities
Coordinates the clinical care for Geriatric general internal medicine patients, including scheduling patients as well as managing administrative calendars for providers and other team members.
Answers, screens, and directs phone calls, provides information and direction to outside partners, and transfers program and clinical information.
Creates agendas and takes minutes for meetings. Distributes both to the department and follows-up on action items.
Performs data entry and maintains/updates program database.
Prepares regular reports on program activity.
Provides other required data and information as program is developed.
Ensures appropriate statistics are maintained, verified, and provided to other administrative personnel.
Monitors patient billing sheets to ensure submission for payment by insurers.
Works with department leadership to develop and maintain efficient office procedures relative to the delivery of quality geriatric health care and maintenance, as well as the accounting and record keeping of day-to-day activities.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's degree with 1 year of administrative support experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Proven experience working with the public required.
Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology may be required.
Experience with computer applications required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and act autonomously required.
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple requests at once required.
Must be comfortable with new program development.
