Supervisor Application Systems Analyst - Lab, Hybrid

OverviewCoordinates aspects of the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of Information Systems. Manages other Information Services staff.A background in Laboratory medicine and experience in laboratory information systems is required.Responsibilities

Designs system solutions to operational issues and meets customer needs.

Manages medium to large scope projects which impact large segments of the organization at the campus or enterprise-wide level or that have a significant impact to the financial health of the organization.

Manages work flow within the team and communication with other IS teams and user population.

Maintains a broad understanding of both the organization and the health care industry.

Empowers individuals, encourages employees toward responsibility and decision making. Promotes continuous learning and improvement.

Conducts team meetings.

Recommends hardware and software solutions for user needs.

Plans, develops, directs, schedules, and/or assists in the deployment and/or enhancement of DH's information systems. Consults with users to diagnose and resolove complex problems.

Supervises team members and performs administrative duties. Completes performance appraisals for team members and recommends hiring, compensation, advancement, and dismissal.

On-call rotation and some project work requiring off hours, weekend, and holidays.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience in information services or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Demonstrates ability with applicable hardware and software applications.

Must be self-directed, flexible, and have excellent organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills required.

Excellent coaching, feedback, and listening skills required.

Must have an analytical approach to problem solving and needs definition.

Demonstrates ability to refine work management processes and methodologies. Trains others in work management skills.

Project management and application testing skills are desired.
