Our Macraes IT team are on the search for a Senior IT Officer. This position will function as the IT technical lead for site in the areas of Systems Administration, Database Administration and IP Networking. Additionally, the role will assist the IT Supervisor to manage site IT projects to ensure Macraes delivers quality solutions, within budget and to the appropriate standard as well as helping out with Level 1 and 2 tickets as required. Working between the Macraes mine site (2 days per week) and the Dunedin city office, this role works a 9-day fortnight structure of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7:00am - 4:30pm, along with some scheduled on-call requirements. 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Responding to Level 3 tasks as well as some Level 1 and 2 tasks as requiredDevelop knowledge to become team expert across varying key site-wide systemsMonitor, maintain and diagnose all Macraes IT systems – with a focus on improving the performance and resilience of the systemsScope, plan and implement IT solutions for both internal and operations-lead projectsAdminister site data backup system including performing regular test restoresConfigure and install new systems and hardware across the Macraes siteDocument existing and new systems and any systems changesParticipate in the Macraes IT after hours on-call rosterAdminister site physical and virtual servers, ensuring they are properly maintained, alarms are investigated and resolved, and systems are tuned for performance and reliabilityDevelop IP networking skills and work to becoming site lead for networking
