Description
A reputable company in need of a Programmer Analyst has partnered with Robert Half to find someone with a passion for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives who also has a strong understanding of software and applications programming and industry requirements. You will use research and fact-finding to make suggestions about developing or altering applications or databases. Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, this is a long-term contract / temporary Programmer Analyst employment opportunity you do not want to miss.
Key responsibilities
- Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
- Trains and assists end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process, on an ongoing basis
- Evaluates and records problems. Collaborates with other programmers to fix issues with code
- Analyzes user requests for systems changes or improvements. Documents functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Develops recommendation as to how, when or whether to proceed with making the changes
- Assists in the developing communication content for specific system changes being implemented in production
- Analyzes processing procedures. Develops recommendations for improvements
- Create and evaluate programming changes for each systems development phase prior to implementation. Log test cases and expected results. Verify that results meet requirements. May plan basic tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May suggest acceptance/rejection when requirements are not met
- Guides internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation through troubleshooting and/or education
Requirements
- Previous experience working with .NET
- Microsoft SQL Server experience
- Earlier work involving PowerShell
- Good understanding of VB
- Adeptness in SQL
- Experience with Oracle SQL
- General familiarity with SSIS
- Python experience highly preferred
- Background working with JavaScript
- Practical knowledge of Refactoring
- NoSQL experience
- MySQL experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL Reporting
- Microsoft SQL experience desired
- Command of PC and mainframe hardware/software
- Comprehensive understanding of programming languages
- Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
- Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
