Unit Coordinator / LNA The starting rate for this position is: $21.55 Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position. Summary The Unit Coordinator/Licensed Nursing Assistant coordinates the activities of, and serves as a resource to, the nurses, doctors, hospital staff, patients, and visitors in a courteous and cooperative manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

Practices by ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Handles all work and correspondence in a confidential manner abiding by HIPAA standards.

Reviews care organizer on a consistent or hourly basis in order to assure up to date patient plans.

Request services from ancillary and support departments for supplies or equipment.

Request food trays, stat meds, old records, patient’s valuables from safe, etc.

Request patient consent for information or films from external facilities.

Performs various patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.

Reports all unusual conditions or reactions to the primary nurse or charge nurse.

Documents all vital signs and pain ratings, and accurately records intake and output.

Collects samples for testing, i.e., urine and fecal occult.

Assists with skin and wound care under the direction of a nurse.

Practices according to the ANA guidelines of care as adopted by the Nursing Division.

Adheres to the Nurse Practice Act of NH.

Demonstrates effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.

Explains any care given to involve the patient in their care.

Completes audits of required forms and documents to assure compliance with Core Measures, and regulatory agencies.

Prepares equipment and assists other nursing staff during treatments and examination of patients.

Uses equipment/safety protocols and policies in providing care and transport to patients.

Maintains patient census log and board.

Maintains on call schedules and keep list daily of patients off floor for testing.

Files forms and reports in charts.

Assists with recording unit/department statistics.

Maintains annual competencies.

Supports practice that is consistent with the tenets of shared governance and with the philosophy of the unit and the organization.

Assists with problem solving and conflict resolution to maximize team performance.

Communicates written messages in accurate, appropriate, and legible format.

Attends 75% of the unit staff meetings.

Maintains adequate patient care hours for licensure.

Attends Skills Day annually.

Effectively controls costs through economical use of supplies, linen, personnel and equipment.

Demonstrates integrity and honesty by accurately accounting for time worked (start/stop time), meal breaks (punch for lunch), and down-time.

Avoids use of unauthorized overtime.

Minimizes use of unplanned earned time per policy.

Other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements

Job Knowledge and Skills

EPIC preferred, training available on-site.

Education and Experience

Valid NH LNA License required

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required or obtained prior to completing orientation.

High School Graduate or GED preferred

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
