Conduct checks and remove any fire hazard that is found in the premisesTest the fire safety systems to ensure that they are in good operating condition and oversee the maintenance of the systemsPrepare and formulate a fire emergency plan for the Hotel. Organize regular fire drills in order to ensure that all staff in the Hotel are familiar with all means of escape in case of fire. Evaluate the evacuation proceduresEducate employees in establishing a fire safe environment. Train employees in basic firefighting and rescue as well as ensuring that there are sufficient qualified First Aiders in the HotelSet up a fire safety committee made up of suitable staff of various departmentsPrepare and formulate fire safety guidebooks for the HotelEnforce fire safety rules as stipulated in the fire emergency planPut up reports to the management on the fire safety of the HotelLiaise and coordinate with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on all matters relating to fire safety and its requirementsEnsure that the number of persons in any part of the Hotel does not exceed the authorized maximum number of persons for whom means of escape have been provided in accordance with the fire codeSupervise firefighting and evacuation in the event of fire or other emergenciesUpdate Director of Security constantly on all matters of security interest affecting the Hotel and the DepartmentAlways be on-call, including off-duty hours, for any emergency that may ariseTrain and appoint a responsible person to take over duties in his/her absenceComply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times.
