Associate Vice President Residential Services (Non-Profit)- New York City

AHRC New York City is seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) for their Residential Services and Housing Supports division. The AVP of Residential Services and Housing Supports provides vital operational leadership within AHRC New York City’s residential portfolio, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Residential Services. The AVP is responsible for the direct administrative oversight, regulatory compliance, and high-quality execution of residential programs across assigned regions or boroughs.Working closely with the SVP, the AVP translates overarching residential strategies into daily operational practices. The role focuses heavily on fostering a strong, supportive workplace culture for frontline management and staff, and ensuring high quality programming and improving upon quality of life related issues. In addition, the AVP ensures program site compliance with OPWDD regulations, maintaining fiscal accountability at the program level, and managing incident resolution.Compensation Package: $160,000 per year plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit package. See additional Benefit information below.Essential ResponsibilitiesOperational Execution and Program ManagementOperationalize the agency’s residential strategy across all assigned programs and service models.Provide direct administrative and management oversight to Regional Teams consisting of Residential Assistant Directors and Coordinators, while ensuring accountability and consistency in daily operations.Conduct regular site visits to monitor program environments, assess operational efficiency, and identify resource needs.Collaborate with clinical, health services, and quality assurance teams to ensure integrated, high-quality care and service delivery for all residents.Regulatory Compliance and Quality AssuranceEnsure strict adherence to OPWDD regulations, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local statutory requirements.Oversee the implementation of corrective action plans resulting from internal audits or state surveys.Monitor incident reporting processes, ensuring timely mitigation, thorough investigation, and adherence to Justice Center and OPWDD protocols.Drive person-centered planning practices across all sites, ensuring that services respect individual choices and promote independence.Workforce Leadership and Team DevelopmentDirectly supervise, coach, and evaluate Assistant Directors, fostering their professional growth and management capabilities.Identify high-potential staff within the programs and partner with the SVP to transition them into the organization’s leadership development pipeline.Address localized workforce challenges by driving recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives in collaboration with Human Resources.Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment across all assigned residential facilities.Financial Management and Fiscal ControlMonitor and manage regional and site-specific budgets to ensure programs operate within defined fiscal parameters.Review and approve localized expenditures, managing labor costs, overtime, and purchasing frameworks.Analyze site-level financial trends and operational data to identify efficiencies and minimize budgetary variances.Collaborate with the Finance and Entitlements departments to ensure accurate tracking of personal allowance funds and benefit entitlements for residents.Stakeholder and Community RelationsServe as a primary point of contact for families, advocates, and care managers regarding regional program operations and resident care.Represent AHRC NYC in regional provider coalitions, local task forces, and community meetings.Build and maintain productive relationships with local OPWDD regional offices and community stakeholders.
