Position Overview:The Dishwasher, reporting directly to the Head Chef of the assigned school site, works as part of the KIPP NYC Culinary Team that prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and a snack for a school community of students and staff.  Experience preferred but willing to teach candidates with potential. This position will abide by the strictest standards of physical and food safety, freshness and sanitation. Responsibilities: General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Wash pots, pans dishes, utensils, plates, trays during lunch serviceAssist in bussing binsAssist in cleaning the kitchen and serveryAssist in prepping food , when neededFollow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures.Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment.Regular attendance is essential.Perform duties as required at special meal functions.Knowledge of commercial kitchen and equipment.Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code.Assist in any area of production or service as needed.
