About the Team The Futures Engineering team sits at the intersection of R&D, applied engineering, and thought leadership within ServiceNow Futures. We build "art of the possible" proofs of concept, run customer- and partner-facing workshops and POCs, and produce technical and strategic collateral that shapes how the market sees ServiceNow as an innovation-driven, futures-forward company. The team operates in an Agile/Scrum model and is made up of Product Managers and Software Engineers.  Purpose of the Role Interface with internal and external stakeholders and customers to develop proofs of concept, applications, and thought leadership collateral. Understand the evolving business and technology landscape — and where ServiceNow fits within it — to conduct research and development on new applications of the ServiceNow platform and on how emerging technologies will shape the ServiceNow ecosystem going forward. Key Responsibilities Customer & Partner Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand business and technical challenges, gather requirements, and manage end-to-end projects: engagement management, architecture, design, testing, blueprints/collateral and delivery/handoff. Work in partnership with and Innovation Officers/Futurists, Software Engineers and account teamsR&D and Applied Research: Lead research initiatives into novel technologies and business trends, evaluating their implications for the ServiceNow platform and ecosystem; translate findings into actionable product and strategic insightThought Leadership & Publishing: Author and publish thought leadership papers, white papers, and technical collateral, grounded in original research, that spark customer/partner and industry imagination and position ServiceNow as an innovation leader. Represent the team's research externally through articles, presentations, conferences and industry commentaryProofs of Concept: Architect and lead customer-facing and internal proofs of concept demonstrating "art of the possible" applications of the ServiceNow platform, in partnership with Software Engineers and Innovation Officers/FuturistsWorkshops & Futures Engagements: Plan and lead workshops with customers and partners to translate research and PoC work into interactive engagements that build conviction and drive roadmap influence for ServiceNow Futures and the AI InstituteMarket & Competitive Research: Participate in market research and competitive analysis in partnership Futurists/IOs, STEP and other orgsFramework and Programs: Develop operational programs and frameworks to run programs within ServiceNow Futures based on iterative pilots of new ways of working for Futures and AI Institute work.
