ABOUT THE JOB
This is a part-time position perfect for people who enjoy a fun atmosphere and love interacting with large groups of customers. We are hiring for weekday and weekend hours. We are looking for 2 or more people to cover these shifts, so just let us know your availability/preference when you reply to the ad.
Weekday Shifts:
In this position you will work between 5-15 hrs a week depending on your availability (or more if you'd like!). Although we are only technically open on weekends, we do larger groups (team building) by request on weekdays. We are looking for someone that is willing to pick up a couple of 3-5 hrs shifts on weekdays (you always get paid for a minimum of 3 hrs even if you come for just one game!). If you are also interested in picking extra shifts on weekends on occasion (for example to cover other team member's time off) as needed then this will work perfectly for both of us!
Weekend Shifts:
In this position you will work between 12 and 20+ hrs depending on your availability. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are a must, and a couple of weekdays available would be even better.
The Game Master responsibilities include but not limited to:
Greeting customers in a personable and friendly manner, making everyone feel excited at being locked in a room for an hour :)
Explaining game rules thoroughly in a fun and engaging way (you must be comfortable talking to large groups of people)
Closely monitoring people over cctv while they play to provide hints as needed.
Resetting the game rooms after each game. Strong attention to detail is a must as all the props and clues must be set in a very specific way every time.
You may also deal with customers over the phone and/or via email asking for questions, directions, etc.
Our ideal applicants are responsible but fun people with good attitude and great problem solving and customer service skills!
Additional skills desired but not required:
Demonstrable experience in customer service.
You also get extra brownie points if you are handy person who can fix things with whatever you have available (props might break!).
You love games and want to help designing and/or building the rooms.
You have electronics knowledge
Experience building theatrical set or props.
