Job Description:
Work with the Engineering Division on municipal development projects, enhancing infrastructure and quality of life for residents and visitors.
Main duties:
- Supervising engineering technicians
- Overseeing project progress
- Providing technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of engineering technicians - in the field
- Plan, allocate, and monitor resources for the division.
- Design highway projects and intersections.
- Design storm and sanitary sewers, size storm pipes, and culverts.
- Draft plan revisions, construction details, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Assist the public with civil engineering and road projects.
- Attend meetings with consultants and property owners.
- Maintain records and research files using computer software.
- Review plans for consistency, accuracy, and economical design.
- Compose specialized engineering agreements and construction contracts.
- Provide traffic data collection and interpretation.
- Perform special assignments, prepare reports, and present technical data.
- Identify and develop potential sources of supplies and materials.
- Create and design plans and specifications for projects.
- Interpret construction and right-of-way plans for the public.
- Assist in directing city survey crew activities.
- Represent the department in various meetings.
- Maintain construction cost estimates and expenditure records.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Four to six years of progressively responsible related experience.
- Or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
