Our deli counter is the heart of our operation, serving commuters, travelers, and local regulars with fresh, quality breakfast, lunch, and grab-and-go options. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and reliable Deli Specialist to join our fast-paced team.

As a Deli Specialist, you are responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving all food items while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a hands-on role that requires speed, accuracy, a passion for food quality, and strict adherence to all food safety standards. Gas Station & Convenience Store operation starts at 5.00 AM and You would start your day at 3 AM and end of shift times can be flexible to meet your needs. Shifts can end anywhere from 7 AM-12 PM to help fit your schedule (getting kids off to school, other job, etc.). Training is available.
Core Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service:
There is no per customer order taking here. There is fix menu items like sandwiches, subs, salads, and hot food items that needs to be made and stacked in the heater for customers to pick up quickly and go.
Food Prep: Prepare all deli items, including slicing meats and cheeses to order, preparing fresh ingredients (chopping vegetables, making sauces), and assembling sandwiches and wraps.
Hot Food: Prepare and manage hot food items (e.g., pizza, fried chicken, breakfast sandwiches) ensuring high quality, proper temperature, and minimal waste.
Packaging: Properly portion, package, weigh, and label all deli products for both customer orders and the Grab & Go case.
Deli Operations & Sanitation:
Stocking & Display: Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and full stocking of all deli display cases, prep areas, and walk-in coolers, adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation.
Sanitation: Strictly follow all local, state, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines . This includes breaking down, cleaning, and sanitizing the meat slicer, fryers, ovens, and other equipment daily.
Inventory: Receive, check in, and properly store daily deli deliveries, noting discrepancies and ensuring product freshness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience (1+ year preferred) in a deli, kitchen, fast-food, or other high-volume food service environment.
Food Safety: Knowledge of and commitment to safe food handling and sanitation practices.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs (boxes of food/ingredients), and perform repetitive tasks such as slicing and packaging.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to listen to and accurately relay detailed orders.
Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and highly self-motivated. Must be able to multitask and work effectively under pressure during peak times.
Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
