Piecemeal Pies is a unique English-inspired meat pie shop, bakery, café, and hard cider bar. We are located in the heart of historic downtown White River Junction, Vermont.

We're expanding our program to incorporate weekday breakfast, lunch and a full espresso bar.
We are perfectionists about fantastic coffee and espresso drinks, incredible baked goods, local dry hard ciders, and farm-to-table breakfasts and lunches.
After searching the state for the best coffee we could find, we are proud to serve King's Row from Hanover NH. The beans are roasted within days of delivery, and we do them justice with phenomenal espresso drinks.
We strive to be the local destination for really good ingredients with down-to-earth professional customer service and a warm welcoming environment that encourages people to come in, come back, and hang out. This is a community café!
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our new big blue espresso machine is front and center, and the barista will be the first person greeting every customer through the door. The barista is responsible for making all coffee and espresso drinks; pouring beer, cider and wine; and making house drinks such as sodas and chai. They will perform opening or closing shop procedures with expedience and diligence. They will be required to ring up customers at the register and passionately communicate our food and our mission. The barista is accountable for maintaining a well-stocked, clean shop. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a positive and professional attitude, attention to cleanliness, detail, and superb time management.
This is a long term position with growth opportunities. Commitment for at least 8 months will be rewarded with compensation and benefits.

Compensation: $12-$13/hour. Increase after 3 months.

Daily Responsibilities:
-Greeting all customers with warmth and positivity
-Keep the pastry counter and pie case looking stocked, clean, and delicious
-Making all drinks to order
-Bartending
-Organizing and maintaining a clean and tidy workspace and dining area
-Ringing up customers for all purchases
-Assisting customers with all questions about Piecemeal Pies and our products
-Setting up and breaking down the pastry counter and back bar
-Assisting in restaurant-wide opening and closing duties, including the kitchen
Requirements:
-Professional barista experience
-A desire to greet and engage customers and foster relationships with regulars
-Meticulous, punctual and detail oriented
-A positive attitude and an enthusiastic desire to learn and excel
-A willingness to learn and grow as a member of the Piecemeal team, and to advance one's skills and knowledge of the industry
-Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
-Ability to lift 50+ pounds and spend 8+ hours standing
-Passion for sustainable food and farming, and appreciation for food prepared with extremely high standards
-Flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
-A diligent approach to safety and sanitation
-Obtain an alcohol server certification through the state of Vermont
-A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all tasks. A self-starter and hard worker
-Desire to help build something from the ground up, and to make it truly awesome.
