Seeking a live in hands-on caregiver/companion for my father, who lives in Hollis, NH. He is 85 years of age, uses a walker most of the time, and is in reasonably good health for someone of his age. He has Parkinson's and has balance problems. We are looking for a caregiver to stay with him and provide assistance with day-to-day tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, helping him in the mornings, evenings, and being present in case of a fall. Will need to assist with ADL's, such as bathing, dressing etc. The room is in a very nice 4-bedroom house. Experience working with a disabled person is beneficial.
Are you able to do the following:
Overnight or live-in
Help a 160-lb 85 yo man if he falls?
Help him shower and change in the mornings and evenings.
Able to drive him in his car to the store and appointments
Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
Medication Management: Reminding about medications and ensuring they are taken as prescribed.
Mobility Assistance: Helping move around safely, whether it's using a walker, wheelchair, or simply getting around the house.
Household Tasks: Light Housekeeping: Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and keeping the home organized.
Laundry: Washing, drying, and folding clothes.
Grocery Shopping and Meal Preparation: Purchasing groceries and cooking meals.
Errands: Running errands like going to the pharmacy, post office, or bank.
Able to pass a NH criminal background check and BEAS screening
Able to speak/write, and understand the English language
Clean health exam/ drug screen
HS diploma/GED or better
experience with patients with Parkinson's
sufficient time to spend with the patient
adequate training on the topic of elder care, and a good rapport with him.
