Capone Iron is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for immediate hire
Responsible for general maintenance of all shop equipment, including fabrication equipment and overhead crane
Perform and/or oversee routine inspections to ensure proper function
Perform/oversee and maintain records of routine preventative maintenance
Diagnose and perform emergency repairs and/or coordinate repairs
Schedule and appropriately communicate planned machine shutdowns
Responsible for general maintenance of all fleet vehicles including yard vehicles
Perform and/or oversee routine inspections to ensure proper function of vehicles
Perform/oversee and maintain records of routine preventative maintenance
Diagnose and perform emergency repairs and/or coordinate repairs
Schedule and appropriately communicate planned fleet maintenance
Ensure state inspections are current
Responsible for general building systems maintenance including HVAC and electrical systems
Perform and/or oversee routine inspections to ensure proper function
Perform/oversee and maintain records of routine preventative maintenance
Main point of contact with outside vendors for systems and utility repairs/maintenance
Responsible for upkeep of grounds including landscaping and snow removal
Ensure building security, including functionality of doors and locks, mechanisms for overhead doors, etc.
Make recommendations to modify and/or replace equipment when necessary
Control inventory to ensure adequate replacement parts are on hand
Ensure vehicles, cranes and equipment meet safety requirements mandated by state and federal government
Responsible for Emergency Shutdown of facility utilities in the event of an emergency
Perform lockout/tagout training
Supervise and train maintenance team members
Supervise, train and road test all drivers when not on the road
Maintain organized, clean and safe workspace

Schedule outside vendors to repair/service equipment

Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to read, comprehend and work from technical documents, blueprints and electrical schematics
Able to properly use repair tools and equipment
Able to safely and correctly operate all shop equipment and vehicles
Able to perform electrical, plumbing and welding projects in the course of minor repairs
Able to perform general repairs and/or preventative maintenance in a wide variety of vehicles
Skilled in basic carpentry and painting methods
Proficient understanding of current federal and state transportation requirements
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Good communication skills, able to work with others in a fast-paced production focused environment
Comfortable with using technology in a paperless environment, including the use of administrative and production related software programs
Quality and safety minded
Position Qualification Minimums (Education, Training, Experience)
Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Certification or five plus years equivalent experience
Three plus years of experience in the maintenance of fabrication equipment, electrical systems, simple controls and mechanical systems
Three plus years of experience in automotive maintenance
State issued Driver’s license in good standing
Strong knowledge of current OSHA regulations
