SUMMARY

The CNC Machinist is responsible for using mid-level machining techniques to produce high-quality, precision components. This role builds on full proficiency as a CNC Machinist I, involving the application of CNC principles, procedures, and setups to carry out machining strategies effectively. A strong desire to advance technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently are essential for success. Opportunities are available across multiple levels and shifts, providing flexibility and room for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out intermediate to advanced CNC machining and programming tasks.

Advise and assist less experienced machinists with technical challenges.

Modify and optimize existing CNC programs to improve productivity.

Set up and operate equipment for high-end jobs on 3-axis, 5-axis, and lathe machines.

Inspect machined parts using various precision measurement tools to ensure conformance to specifications.

Design and fabricate basic fixtures to aid in machining operations.

Identify and suggest improvements in machining processes and efficiency.

Maintain cleanliness and assist in routine maintenance of machines and tools.

Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols.

Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Complete proficiency in all CNC Machinist I skills and functions.

Intermediate knowledge of WinMax and/or Mastercam programming software.

Familiarity with G-code and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with SolidWorks modeling software.

Hands-on experience with 3-axis, 5-axis, and/or lathe machining operations.

Understanding of complex fixture design and use.

Ability to work with high-tolerance parts and tight specifications.

Competency in shop mathematics, measurement, and interpreting technical drawings.

Experience machining parts from a variety of materials.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 1-5 years of CNC programming and/or machining experience required.

High School diploma or GED required.
