SHEET METAL PROGRAMMER

East Coast Welding and Fabrication, is a vertically-integrated precision sheet metal fabrication and machining firm that builds electronic, structural, and environmental enclosures and ancillary components for OEMs in the instrumentation, defense, power supply, and medical industries.

Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sheet Metal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and play a crucial role in the development and fabrication of a diverse range of sheet metal projects. The candidate should be knowledgeable in programming for CNC Lasers & Turret Punch Presses and drafting disciplines including revision control, manufacturing tolerances, and welding symbols.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, blueprints, test procedures, and specifications to verify compliance to Customer requirements & technical specifications.

Utilize Customer supplied Drawings & CAD models to create sheet metal developments, taking into consideration functionality, manufacturing feasibility, and ease of manufacturing

Develop programs for CNC Lasers & CNC Turret Punch Presses

Create Work Orders & BOMs with our ERP system to convey detailed manufacturing instructions, while defining appropriate materials & processes based on Customer requirements, including forming, welding and specialty finishing.

Develop processes to streamline product flow through manufacturing.

Work closely with manufacturing personnel to provide support during the fabrication process.

Collaborate with the production & quality team to provide feedback, guidance, and solutions on non-conforming parts, assisting in the resolution of quality-related issues.

Work independently with minimal supervision. Prioritize work in order to meet commitments and deadlines. Meet established standards for productivity and quality.

Confer with Management when problems arise which impact expected level of performance.

Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Contribute to a positive work environment.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Other duties as directed by the Company President or General Manager.

Skills:

Proficient with CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Proficient with Sheet Metal programming software, such as AP100, Cincinnati, and Striker

Strong knowledge & understanding of industry standards for Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication & Processes including Laser Cutting, Turret Punch Pressing, Press Brake Forming, Welding, and Assembly.

Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Must have prior knowledge working with an ERP System.

Additional Details:

This is not a remote role. This is a full-time onsite office-based position, which operates Monday through Friday.

Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints, and to utilize computer equipment.

Frequently uses both hands to grip, hold, and type.

Frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, bend and reach with hands and arms

This position will also visit the manufacturing floor from time to time as needed.

Rarely lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
