About The Position:
Hours are usually from 2:50 to 6:30 pm on school days in off-site locations. We will work with your schedule and days you are available. If you are only available two days a week, that can work. We are very flexible.
Requirements:
Must be on time and dependable. 15 Kids are left without supervision when the Lead Teacher doesn’t show up.
Must have transportation with supply transport possibilities (a car).
Ability to pass a background check
Art and science background, either professionally or as a hobby. Think painting, sculpting, woodworking, ceramics, graphic design, illustration, watercolor, sketching, sewing and drawing for art and biology, physics, chemistry, engineering- we want artists and scientists!
Strong written direction following and technology skills. We need regular email checking, use of Google Sheets and Documents. Texting is helpful, but primary job communication is via email.
Preferences:
Well rounded science background/understanding. If you are a biologist, chemist, physicist, therapist, nurse, physician/doctor, lab technician, physical therapist, test engineer, or medical assistant looking for some extra and regular afternoon hours, this is for you.
Experience teaching or working with children. This position can be great for stay at home moms, part time teachers or day-care providers.
Duties:
Retrieval and Transportation of materials to classroom
Set up classroom
Teach lessons to children and teenagers according to pre-written plan (age range from 2.9 yrs to 18)
In-class demonstrations and teaching
Take attendance
Compliance with student allergies and other health challenges
Lesson clean up
Regular reporting
Regular checking and responding of email
Accepting and declining classes via digital calendar (Google Calendar)
Tracking of hours via Gusto
Hours: Flexible with Restriction on Class Availability. Position paid hourly. 25/hr
