Want to do something that makes a difference in someone's life? Work for Meals on Wheels and help supply a home delivered meal to senior citizens in Londonderry.
Your main responsibility is to oversee the kitchen and the staff. We have a caterer so all of the food comes to the site already prepared, it just needs to be packaged and made ready for the meal delivery drivers. Responsibilities at the site include packing meals for the homebound, serving meals to congregate, assist with cleaning-up site, assisting the manager and supervising volunteers. Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures a plus. Site assistants are the manager's right-hand person and support the manager with everyday issues as well as able to fill in during short-term absence. This position also requires the site assistant to fill in for meal drivers when needed.
Skills and Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or over with a valid driver's license. Must have a good driving record. Comfortable using a computer. Other things we are looking for in an ideal candidate, but we are willing to train the right person. Knowledge of safe food service standards and good with driving directions.
