Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidates for the role must have thorough knowledge of rough, finish carpentry, and tools and trades associated with residential construction. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibility is to fabricate, assemble, and install wooden structures and fixtures, which include framing, rough and finish work, and specialized carpentry tasks. This role involves accurately measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting wood and other materials according to blueprints or plans. You also ensure the structural integrity and quality of your work, often collaborating with other tradespeople.

JOB SCOPE:

Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted.

Responsible for job site safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from the elements.

Check the job site daily and communicate any discrepancies to the Foreman.

Inform the Foreman of specialty items needed.

Hold themselves and all carpenters under their direction accountable for their work performance, actions, and appearance.

Responsible for producing projects per the plans and specifications.

Participate and prepare for weekly on-site meetings with the entire team.

Perform work under safety best practices.

Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.

Cut, shape, and alter materials as needed.

Measure and mark materials for alterations.

Measures, marks, and arranges materials to establish layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.

Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.

Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.

Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.

Erects and dismantles scaffolding.

Install windows and doors.

Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.

Install windows and doors, along with the appropriate door hardware.

Install batt insulation in wall, ceiling, and floor cavities.

Install interior and exterior trim boards of multiple materials.

Performs other related duties as assigned

Install siding and roofing.

Minor drywall work and paint.

Demolition work will be required at some jobs.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

-Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.

-Ability to identify deficient work and provide a resolution.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to read and navigate Blueprints.

-Ability to stand or walk over 75% of the time. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required. -Lifting up to 100 lbs.

-OSHA 10 card

-Endurance and ability to visit the entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.

-Monitoring job site general health and safety.

-Dress Code: PPE, pants or shorts, T-shirt, sturdy work boots or shoes, no tank tops, no athletic shorts or pants (i.e., sweatpants or gym shorts), no open-toe shoes.

-Education and/or Experience

- Minimum of five years of verifiable carpentry experience, thorough knowledge of rough, finish carpentry, and all trades associated with residential construction.

-Computer literate

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, shop drawings, and submittals.

-Ability to speak effectively before clients, co-workers, and subcontractors.

-Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

-Ability to provide basic survey skills for line, grade, and elevations.

-Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

-Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

-Must have a high school diploma or GED
