The Hydro/Maintenance/Production Technician will serve as a key member of the hydropower plant operations team. This position involves hands-on operational work and equipment maintenance in the field, with a focus on the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydropower plant equipment and systems.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate, monitor, and maintain hydropower generation stations.

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on turbines and associated equipment.

Conduct gate changes as instructed and document changes accurately.

Monitor and report conditions, instrument readings, and data collection during periods of significant runoff.

Start and stop units as required for efficient operation.

Execute station and dam operations in adherence to safety protocols.

Identify and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical system issues.

Monitor equipment quality and report issues per company specifications.

Act as a contractor monitor when required, reporting to the immediate Supervisor or Project Manager.

Adhere to Employer HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with all operational requirements and procedures.

Respond to changing situations, emergencies, and multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.

Utilize corporate enterprise resource program (if applicable) for time and expense entry.

Be available for overtime, on-call duties, and after-hours "call-ins" as needed.

Be willing to work at multiple stations when necessary.

Qualifications:

1 – 2 years of experience required.

Technical degree or equivalent experience required.

Ability to work alone and alongside a team.

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Experience rigging and lifting.

Welding experience is a plus.

Troubleshooting skills and relevant experience are preferred.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to travel and stay overnight for company business purposes, including training and corporate meetings.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Experience with electrical repair and maintenance of hydro turbine/generator systems, industrial electrical systems, and related equipment.

Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings and schematics preferred.

Knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Outlook.
