We’re proud of brands, like COLORBOND ® steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.The OpportunityIt’s an exciting time to join BlueScope as a Fluid Power Engineer, as we commence with our No.6 Blast Furnace Reline, one of the largest capital projects in our history.With most of the engineering design work now complete, as a Fluid Power Engineer on the Reline Project, you will be involved in the later stages of the engineering process and oversee design management, installation, and the commissioning of a wide range of both new and refurbished hydraulic equipment.    This rare opportunity will mean you will be a part of our major steelmaking transition over the next 20 years and a pipeline of major capital projects to sustain our current operations, but also exploring future markets and technology as part of our long-term plan to transition to low-carbon steelmaking. We are dedicated to our decarbonisation strategy and 2050 net zero goal to sustain future generations.This opportunity is a 2-year fixed-term position to see out the completion of works required until the No.6 Blast Furnace is operational with possibilities for future ongoing work in other areas of the Port Kembla Steelworks upon completion for the right applicant.What Will You Do?As a Fluid Power Engineer working within the No.6 Blast Furnace Reline (6BFR) team, you will work alongside highly skilled multidisciplinary teams, ensuring all engineering work is carried out efficiently and effectively, with quality and safety front of mind. You will also:maintain an awareness of the design management plan and ensure its deployment across the assigned work packagesensure relevant fluid power design information is provided to the 6BFR Construction team in a timely and efficient mannerwhere applicable, provide fluid power contractual support and technical support to the 6BFR Construction teamensure that fluid power commissioning activities within the assigned work packages are planned and resourcedactively contribute to the 6BFR fluid power commissioning processcomplete assigned tasks to allocated schedule and budget, reporting progress to lead engineersapply engineering standards and practises to all new and refurbished fluid power assets.More About You As an experienced Engineer with a Mechanical background, you will have sound technical and analytical knowledge, as well as a genuine passion to grow your career further in fluid power. You will have:degree qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, OR a Mechanical Associate Diploma with relevant experienceexperience in a technical engineering role encompassing management of customer interfaces, design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of new and refurbished equipmentgeneral knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD as well as other engineering analysis packagesexperience with the engineering of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment  a strong safety focus and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and multiple customersWhy BlueScopeAs we’re creating strength for the future through our people, products and solutions, BlueScope gives you opportunities to innovate, learn and grow with the business, supported by inclusive leadership and a positive, passionate team.
