Build New Hampshire.The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Bridge Maintenance has several full-time vacancies for Bridge Maintainer I, II and III.SUMMARY:Bridge Maintainer ITo perform semi-skilled bridge construction work, assisting other bridge maintainers in maintenance, repairs and construction associated with bridge maintenance activities.Bridge Maintainer IITo perform semi-skilled and skilled bridge construction work, assisting other bridge maintainers in maintenance, repairs and construction associated with bridge maintenance activities.Bridge Maintainer IIITo perform skilled bridge construction and maintenance duties assisting and supervising work performed by other bridge maintainers and acts as crew supervisor in the absence of the Bridge Construction Supervisor.YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal educationMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bridge Maintainer IEducation:Completion of two (2) years of high school or high school equivalency.Experience:One (1) year of experience as a laborer or helper in work concerned with maintenance, painting, building, mechanical or construction trades. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of required formal education.License/Certification:Applicant must possess a valid drivers license. The applicants Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.Bridge Maintainer IIEducation:Completion of two (2) years of high school or high school equivalency.Experience:Two (2) years of experience in bridge construction or one of the following fields: carpentry, concrete construction, structural welding, structural steel erection, structural steel painting, timber construction, or operation of heavy construction equipment. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of required formal education.License/Certification:Applicant must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL-B) with tanker and air brake endorsementsOR obtain such licensure prior to completion of the one (1) year probationary period.
