This includes long-term planning, objective setting, policy formation, interpretation and management while providing latitude and discretion to subordinates. Accountable for projects or programs on a global basis. Work requires investigating and resolving a wide variety of highly unusual conditions that carry long-term implications. Requires developing new strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems or situations and establishing new strategic directions. Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Has overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees of a large Business Development team. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives. Erroneous decisions may have a serious impact on the overall direction and success of the company. Directs and controls the activities of a large Business Development team, possibly through several department managers. Assigns objectives, reviews performance and approves employee compensation, coaches for improved performance. Regularly interacts with sr. executives internally and externally. Interactions often involve controversial situations, customer negotiations or influencing and persuading executives. May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events.Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Either (a) manages and coaches a team of 5 or more direct reports which are Consultant 2 level or higher and which have a minimum team revenue accountability (team sales quota) equivalent to at least US$50M in value-add, or (b) maintains a minimum personal revenue accountability (a personal sales quota) equivalent to at least US$50M in value-add.

Works with the Director of Marketing and Sales Executives to target specific market segments and customers in a manner which will leverage Celestica's resources and capabilities to optimize revenue and profit growth.

Works with site management teams to ensure consistency of customer-focus across the geography.

Develops global policy and ensures common strategies, policies and behavior throughout the geography.

Provides direction, guidance, training and support to the Business Development, Sales and Operations teams within a major geographic region or very large GCU in order to ensure alignment with overall strategies and successful attainment of corporate objectives.

Works with Celesticas sr. executives to develop and implement major corporate initiatives on a global basis.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Demonstrated ability as a top-performing sales professional or sales team manager

Strong business management skills.

Extremely high level of business acumen.

Strong leadership and communications skills and proven ability to influence senior management within customer, site locations, and Celestica's corporate offices.

Ability to create & develop global business strategies

Strong knowledge of EMS industry and customer’s industry.

Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.

Strong business development skills, win/win negotiation skills, contract negotiation skills, , teamwork skills, interpersonal skills and mentoring skills .

High degree of computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Strong skills and abilities in conflict resolution, influencing individuals over which you have no direct authority, and developing complex account strategies .

HR/team management skills necessary to manage a team of direct reports in a matrix management environment

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, etc.) are frequently required.

Frequent overnight travel may be required

Duties of this position may require working very long hours for months at a time.

Typical Experience

Twelve plus years of applicable experience, including a minimum of 5 years of field sales experience and a minimum of 4 years of directly applicable business development/management experience.

Prior team Management experience is also a requirement.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in related field (preferably in Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA is preferred.
