Program: FEMA Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office Technical SupportAbout the RoleWe are seeking experienced Project Managers to support FEMA’s Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon (HPCC) Claims Office. This role provides team leadership and operational coordination across claims review, quality control, and appeals functions supporting wildfire and flood survivors in New Mexico.Project Managers serve as team leads and technical advisors, ensuring high-quality, policy-compliant work output across a high-volume claims environment. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and demonstrated experience managing case processing teams in fast-paced, compliance-driven programs.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Workload ManagementProvide day-to-day oversight, direction, and technical support to claims review, QC, and appeals staff.Assign, balance, and monitor caseloads to ensure timely, accurate task completion.Conduct coaching and provide clarifications on HPCC policy, eligibility, valuation principles, and workflow.Identify training gaps and communicate needs to management.Claims Processing & Technical ReviewSupport staff reviewing Proofs of Loss (POLs), supporting documentation, valuations, and eligibility determinations.Ensure consistent application of FEMA regulations, HPCC policies, and 44 CFR Part 296.Conduct escalated reviews or complex case checks when needed.Quality Control & Compliance SupportValidate the accuracy and completeness of casework before submission to government reviewers.Identify discrepancies, documentation gaps, and areas requiring rework.Track and analyze QC trends; recommend corrective actions or process improvements.Appeals SupportOversee team members preparing administrative appeal reviews, including document assembly, bulleted analyses, and in-depth written memorandums.Ensure accuracy, policy compliance, and timely submission of all appeal work products.Coordination & CommunicationCommunicate effectively with FEMA counterparts, claimants, navigators, SMEs, and internal teams.Provide clear explanations regarding policy, procedures, and documentation requirements.Escalate issues affecting case movement, timelines, or operational performance.Reporting & DocumentationTrack team metrics, deliverables, and productivity requirements.Ensure timely and accurate updates in FEMA’s system of record.Support weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting needs as required.
