OFX has been a trusted innovator in global money movement for over 25 years.Purpose of your role The data engineer contributes to delivery of high quality data, including ingestion, maintenance, optimizations and solutions to support the data operations in OFX. Working across AWS and GCP, you will also be exposed to data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing. Working in an agile environment, you will implement solutions to appropriate standards and accepted best practices, working with guidance from senior engineers. On a day-to-day basis the data engineer is actively participating in the agile processes of the organization, positively contributing to discussions and team dynamics. The data engineer assists with developing appropriate testing and monitoring, as well as providing handover and technical escalation support.What you do Your role will perform a range of data engineering tasks as part of a cross-functional data and insights team. Day to day you will:Create new data pipeline, maintain/debug existing data pipelines which pull data from a variety of source systemsWork within a wider engineering team, adopting and contributing to best practices for software development and cloud architectureWork with guidance from senior engineers to diagnose and resolve any production issues which arise, communicating status updates to key stakeholdersIdentify opportunities continuous improvement to our systems and processesDevelop appropriate testing and monitoring, as well as providing handover and technical escalation support
