What you’ll be doing As a Portfolio Analyst you will work with the Head of Group Portfolio Strategy to develop and manage portfolio growth strategies which minimise risk while optimising Meridian’s portfolio value over the medium and longer term outlook. You will provide expert advice across this wider business to ensure a collective understanding of Meridian’s risk, and the impact events may have on our revenue. You’ll help the Group Portfolio Team run complex optimisation models, value and price wholesale deals and options, assess risk, support and undertake transmission analysis, and build and support reporting for team outputs. Relationship and project or process management are integral parts of this role as you’ll be required to work closely with our senior management and wider Wholesale team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders as needed. This role can be based in either Wellington, Christchurch or Twizel. What you’ll bring You’ll have a quantitative and technical analysis background, preferably with experience in energy trading markets, or physical transmission grid dynamics. You’ll be skilled in operational decision making and be confident presenting your recommendations, often within tight timeframes.
