Regional Category Manager - Packaged TransportationFlorham Park, NJ - HybridCome create chemistry with us!We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for designing, developing and implementing an innovative and competitive North American procurement strategy for Packaged Transportation (Truckload, Less-than-Truckload, Intermodal, Drayage, Expedite) to drive long-term sustainable results for our businesses.You will manage the service offering design, negotiation strategy, optimization, and development of the packaged transportation marketspace. You will have direct supervision of four buyers and ensure adherence to harmonized procurement processes, systems, and compliant standards for a spend of $350M USD. You will interact with Business Units, Transport Operations, Lead Logistics Providers and Packaged Transportation Providers to bring end-to-end transportation solutions that will improve service levels and support growth.As a Regional Category Manager - Packaged Transportation, you create chemistry by

Supervising a team of direct reports, relying on your demonstrated entrepreneurial skill set and ability to lead a team. As a leader at BASF, you will play a key role in creating value for the company through people.

Managing Packaged Transportation Procurement Strategy & Provider Selection, focusing on innovation, new service concepts, and digitization strategy and execution, handling provider and business interactions.

Setting priorities and making independent decisions to carry out company and procurement-wide initiatives.

Executing a carrier program that outperforms peer companies and provides BASF with a competitive advantage.

Providing information on current Packaged Transportation procurement activities and market trends, as well Assisting in the preparation & execution of major regional negotiations ensuring alignment with relevant internal stakeholders and partners like Supply Chain Management, EHS, Legal, etc.

Effectively analyzing provider bids, contract nuances, supply chain costs, and service analytics.

If you

Have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Transportation and Distribution.

Have 7+ years of experience on related positions, or at least 5 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.

Possess strong project management skills and the ability to drive change, (PMP certification, nice to have).

Have strong leadership skills (communication, collaboration, negotiation, presentation, etc.) and have the ability to manage teams.

Are self-motivated and have analytical skills, and a work style.

Have a strong knowledge of supply chain structures, platforms, and systems (such as SAP).
