Signature Consultants is seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer for an opportunity with a client located in Summit, NJ. Our client is looking for a candidate to work on an assignment 24+ months.
Locations approved: Columbia, MD; Jersey City, NJ; Phoenix, AZ; Glendale, AZ; Des Moines, IA; Saint Louis, MO; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Minneapolis, MN (remote until post Covid-19 onsite after COVID)
Responsibilities:
Work request and work order completions for SQL Migration
Database health checks
Database capacity planning
Monitoring database performance
Database backup verification
Database maintenance jobs (such as statistics and index optimization)
Reviewing CR/WO SQL Server Scripts Release Deployment
Responding to and resolving problem tickets
Responding to production incidents (EACO meetings) if applicable
Backup for other DBAs/Applications when needed
Reviewing CR/WO SQL Server Scripts Release Deployment
Application query performance consultation and analysis
Participating in on-call rotation during USA hours
Responding to the applications teams' emails and participating in the application teams meetings
Required Technology Skills:
7+ years of SQL DBA experience
7+ years of SQL Server database design and administration experience
7+ years of experience writing Microsoft SQL Server relational database queries, stored procedures, query optimization
Strong working experience with performance tuning and SQL instance troubleshooting and Golden Gate
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledgeable in DB tuning parameters, administration, maintenance, and monitoring for Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019
SQL Migrations
PowerShell scripting experience
SQL Server Backup, Windows clustering, database mirroring, database replication, transaction log shipping, always On Availability Groups experience
Experience working in a standards-based environment with strong change management processes
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
SQL Cluster Management/Administration
Manage global Databases across multiple Datacenters
Experience with SQL partitioning
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
