Administrative Assistant/ParalegalDepartment:LGL-LegalLocation:Carlsbad, NMBe part of the nation-s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aAdministrative Assistant/Paralegalto join our legal team located in Carlsbad, NM.The successful candidate will support the activities of the company-s attorney(s) and fulfill necessary role expectations including but not limited to:

Perform routine administrative duties including answering phones, preparing expense reports, making travel arrangements, coordinating records, scheduling meetings and training, assisting with internal and external correspondence and other documents, tracking commitments, updating calendars, managing office supplies, etc.

Assist in preparing, filing, and organizing legal documents, correspondence, and reports.

Lead the billing, invoicing, and financial record-keeping tasks to ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures related to billing and financial transactions.

Act as a primary point of contact for billing-related queries from other departments and external vendors.

Support the legal team in responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for documents, as well as Privacy Act requests for documents.

Coordinate communications and billing activities with outside counsel in accordance with 10 CFR 719.

Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals and drive office improvement initiatives to enhance overall functionality.

Interact professionally with multiple levels of management and employees.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to perform all duties while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Must be detail oriented, exercise good judgement, discretion, and professionalism in all matters.

Non-Exempt Grade Levels (26-28)Minimum Requirements:Theserequirementsmust be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

Bachelor-s degree, or

Associate's degree with four (4) years of administrative experience, or

High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of administrative experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.Preferred Requirements:

Related experience working in a legal office or legal setting.

Experience working with confidential and business sensitive information is important.

Paralegal certification desired.

WIPP or DOE related experience is a plus.
