After School Teacher - Job Description
Shooting Stars Childcare in Clifton Park is looking for an energetic, fun loving, education major to work with school aged children grades K-6 in a fun relaxed environment each afternoon from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
Qualifications:
Education Major
18 years of age+
Willing to acquire CPR as well as other trainings required to do the job
Duties of the job:
Supervision: Oversee students during after school care, including playtime and supervised activities outside
Behavior management: Help manage student behavior and redirect inappropriate actions
Safety: Maintain a safe environment for students, including following safety policies and procedures
Communication: Communicate with parents and staff about problems or concerns
Activities: Plan and implement activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age group. Work with director to acquire supplies
Enrollment: Assist with student enrollment and record attendance
Data collection: Gather and maintain data on student participation, development, and achievement if necessary
Cleaning: Clean up after children and ensure the site is clean and safe
Discipline: Implement a discipline policy and report observations to the site coordinator
Relationships: Build positive relationships with students and foster connections between participants.
Compensation will be based on experience, annual raises will be given.
