We are a full-service, high-energy restaurant, bar, and tavern located in downtown Albany, steps away from the MVP Arena and The Egg. We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Restaurant General Manager to lead our team, drive profitability, and create unforgettable guest experiences in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) management.
Maintain a strong leadership presence, ensuring smooth service during peak hours and major events.
Step in when needed, including bartending, cooking, or managing the floor.
Staff Management & Development:
Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff.
Create and manage work schedules, process payroll, and ensure labor law compliance.
Lead staff meetings, provide regular feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
Financial & Cost Management:
Manage food, beverage, and labor costs to meet profitability goals.
Conduct profit-and-loss analysis, cost projections, and budget management.
Handle vendor relationships, food and liquor ordering, and inventory control.
Guest Experience & Event Management:
Ensure exceptional guest service by fostering a welcoming environment.
Manage operations during high-volume periods, including major events, busy weekends, and private parties.
Plan and execute special events and promotions to increase revenue and brand visibility.
Social Media & Digital Presence:
Manage the restaurant’s online presence, including social media platforms, OpenTable, and review sites like Yelp and Google Reviews.
Implement marketing strategies to drive guest engagement, increase reservations, and boost event bookings.
Monitor online reviews, respond professionally, and maintain a positive brand image.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
Conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections.
Uphold all licensing and legal standards.
What You Bring:
Experience: 5+ years in restaurant management with a focus on high-volume, full-service operations.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a team with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
Technical Skills: Expertise in POS systems, payroll processing, OpenTable, and social media management.
Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of restaurant accounting, cost control, and profitability strategies.
Problem-Solving: Ability to stay calm under pressure, troubleshoot issues, and implement quick, effective solutions.
Availability: Must be able to work late nights, weekends, and event days.
Integrity: Must pass a background and reference check.
