We’re looking for an experienced, talented and passionate Sous Chef who is interested in leading our team at The Copper Crow, an approachable upscale bar & restaurant in Albany’s warehouse district. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years experience as a sous chef or lead line cook. The hired candidate will be skilled and passionate about various Cuisines, sourcing the finest ingredients and LOVE cooking on the line. Ideal Candidates will have an intimate understanding of daily ordering, with an acute awareness of C.O.G.S. Basic computer skills are a must.
Job responsibilities include:
Purchasing & inventory management
Collaborating with chef on menu development
Assisting with events and catering
Line cooking
Food preparation
Leading kitchen in Chef’s absence
Assuring adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation
Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
Recruiting and training BOH employees
Maintaining a clean kitchen and surrounding area
Complying with current health code and safety standards.
Help maintain and keep equipment in good working order
Maintain a comfortable work environment for our team
Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
Work with Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
