Mesiano Consulting is based in New York and provides grant writing, research and strategic development services for municipal agencies. We are seeking experienced grant writers to provide project-based services in one or more of the areas listed below. We are building a core roster of grant writers with subject matter expertise.
Successful candidates will be responsible for developing highest quality proposals for federal, state and local funding opportunities on behalf of municipal clients (cities, counties, towns, villages, special districts and others) or hospitals. Grant writing projects will encompass necessary research, data collection, writing and coordination tasks, and will also require the grant writer to draw upon his or her expertise to provide insight and decision support. Mesiano Consulting will oversee project management, manage the client relationship, and provide information, direction and support needed by the grant writer to complete assigned projects. Requirements include:

⢠Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and grant funding processes.
⢠Strong expository writing skills and ability to write, proofread and edit in English with high accuracy.

⢠Respect confidentiality of all work and information received in the course of conducting business.
⢠Resources conducive to completing project work, including sufficient office equipment and supplies. Necessary technology capabilities include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat; document scanning to PDF format; internet services to support screen sharing and file sharing.
This is not an offer of full time employment. Work opportunities are on a 1099 basis, assigned on a project basis. All work may be performed at the subcontractor's location, though desk space at our location in Malta, NY is available. We understand that most if not all respondents will have other job commitments and responsibilities, or will be retirees seeking part time work. Our aim is to balance client service with each subconsultant's availability. We want to hear from people who share our commitment to excellence, community and professionalism.
Areas of Expertise: We are seeking candidates that possess current, demonstrated experience and success in one or more of the following areas. Experience with New York-based funders and municipalities is preferred.
Economic development, community development: Community revitalization, downtown redevelopment, planning, affordable/attainable housing, incentive programs, and the like.
Water quality, wastewater and environmental: Grant programs such as NYS Water Quality Improvement Program, NYS Local Waterfront Revitalization, Environmental Restoration Program, Brownfields and similar programs offered by federal, state and other agencies. Creative engineers welcome - no PE needed as all plans are developed by outside consultants.
