We are looking for a home care provider for my 93 year old mother with dementia who has recently moved in with us in Earlton, NY. She is a fun loving tease and loves to play. Mama is a Lebanese immigrant, Arabic is her first language though she is fluent in English. As elders often do, she has started to speak more in her first language. Comfortability with other languages and cultures is a must. If you speak Arabic, particularly Lebanese dialect this would be a huge plus for our family.
We are looking for someone to spend two 6-hour days a week with her (with the potential for increase in hours and/or days) to provide her with basic care like spending time with her keeping her company, giving her meals, doing clean up after meals and in her room, making sure she is safe walking around, helping her go to the bathroom and cleaning up if there are accidents, and keeping a log of her activities.
This is a private employment opportunity, pay is $20/hour, time is 10 AM - 4PM. Position is located in Greene County in the town of Earlton.
