Maine Drilling & Blasting is seeking an experienced Hoe Ram Operator to support construction and quarry projects in New York, Vermont, and throughout our entire region as business demands. The ability to and interest in travel is essential to be successful in this role.

Primary Function:
Safely and efficiently perform all construction or quarry hoe ram operating activity in accordance with the job program to achieve anticipated production. Position requires proficiency in all matters relating to hoe ram/excavator operations and general maintenance
Essential Duties:
-Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment
-Maximize the usage of the hoe ram and minimize equipment wear by proper care and pm of equipment.
-Communicate problems and terrain conditions (example: access and hazardous conditions) relative to hoe ram operations.
-Understand the Field Accounting system and be able to accurately complete and submit timely production reports and time cards
-Follow Safety Policies and Procedures
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have hydraulic equipment operating experience
Valid Driver's License with own transportation
One year experience in the construction industry
Experience as construction labor
Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems, desired
Possesses appropriate tools and toolbox
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
Must have a clean criminal record history (position works around explosives)
Job Requirements:
Ability to perform essential functions of the position
Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs., less than 5%
Work on uneven and loose surfaces, less than 5%
Stooping and bending , less than 5%
Sitting in the operator's seat 99%; Physical agility with operating excavator for long hours
Running left and right hand coordinated controls 99% of the time
Out of town/state travel NY/VT/Etc. (as business demands)
Overtime Assignment
Ability to work long periods of time unsupervised
Ability to function in varying weather environments
