High Performance Building Apprentice Opportunity at Ardor Construction
Ardor Construction, located in Esopus, NY, is seeking a High Performance Building Apprentice to collaborate with our Project Manager and Owner, as well as work independently when necessary.
Responsibilities:
Apply building science principles and envelope performance techniques for independent work enhancement.
Utilize high-efficiency products like Intello, Tesco Vana, Gutex, mineral fiber, and cellulose for maximum insulation effectiveness.
Minimize waste through sustainable material use and application.
Install air barriers, perform air sealing, and handle cellulose insulation following project guidelines.
Assist with retrofit work, including drilling, patching, and related tasks.
Ensure a safe working environment using ladders and scaffolding proficiently.
Maintain insulation trailer, equipment, and tools in an organized manner.
Conduct maintenance on various equipment (compressors, staple guns, generators, cellulose machines, and hoses).
Keep the job site and trailer clean for easy access to tools and supplies.
Collaborate with the Lead Carpenter and perform carpentry tasks when necessary.
Assist and eventually install HVAC equipment, collaborating directly with the Lead Project Manager and Owner.
Engage in hands-on learning to meet precision standards set by New York State and utility companies.
Play an integral role in ensuring each project is executed with exceptional quality and attention to detail.
Maintain a professional demeanor on and off each job site, representing Ardor with pride.
Candidate Requirements:
We require some knowledge of insulation techniques, excellent communication skills and the ability to meet project deadlines efficiently. We do provide on-the-job training.
A valid driver's license with reliable transportation within a 40-mile radius of Kingston.
Cell phone (smartphone preferred).
Proficient in English; Spanish speaking is a plus
Position Details:
Full-time, Monday through Friday.
Start and end time varies based on job requirements, typically 8 am to 5 pm with a lunch break.
W4 and I-9 required; Direct Deposit available.
