Job Description
Summary
The Ice Rink Facilities Operator is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all ice rink facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. This role involves a combination of ice maintenance, equipment operation, and general building facilities maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ice Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain the quality and thickness of the ice surface.
Operate ice resurfacing machines to ensure a smooth and even ice sheet.
Implement proper ice edging techniques to enhance safety and performance.
Execute scheduled ice maintenance procedures, including flooding and resurfacing.
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain ice resurfacing machines, Zambonis, and other specialized equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and address any issues promptly.
Ensure all equipment is stored, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with safety protocols.
Building Facilities Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections of the facility's infrastructure, including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems.
Address and report any maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department.
Conduct regular checks on doors, windows, and other structural components to ensure security and safety.
Collaborate with maintenance staff to implement preventive maintenance programs.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from patrons.
Assist in coordinating events and activities within the ice rink facility.
Collaborate with management to implement improvements based on customer feedback.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of organizational systems, Microsoft office and electronic communication.

Current driver’s licenses required.
